Unfair Recruitment in British Army

Once again,the time has come where many young boys of Nepal head towards the British Camp in Pokhara all with high hopes.Many aspire to be a British army or Policeman in the Singapore Police force but many hopes are dashes as only 230 select for British army and 64 men in the Singapore Police Force.
These year,there are more than 18000 who will have to compete with each other for to be a Lahure. As you know that there are 14 zones in Nepal and for the selection it is divided into 2 categories.One as EAST (which contains just 4 zone) & one is WEST (which contains 10 zone). The unjustical part of this segregation is that equal number of candidate chosen from the EAST & WEST,like if the quantity is 300 then 150 is selected from EAST and 150 from WEST which is a totally unfair competition.
What I would like to bring to attention is that,Nepal is a United nation,it shouldn't be identified as Zones and let the best men in the selection.
Interestingly,there was an article published in "Janaastha Weekly,June 06,2007, edition) stated that a recruiting officer named Chitra Bahadur Limbu MVO ,who was a recruiting officer in British Camp,Pokhara in 2006,he took a bribe of 15 Lakhs from a candidate.Later he was selected in Singapore Police.Which is really ashamed one.
If these kind of things are practiced,many young lives are distorted.Many young Nepali (especially gurung,magar,rai) do quit their studies after SLC,thinking that they will become Lahure.Their minds are filled up with the Lahure issue and thus,instead of studying further studies get disrupted and their precious time is wasted too.
its not tht u guys hav to become an army !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! u can study further n do offcial jobs as well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wht u people think...................... so be open-minded peepssss

Guys, don't be upset if you are not chosen to be british gurkhas (Army), the bad treaty isn't only from nepalese sahabs and guruji.it has happened from british government too.we would have been far better if we were not banned to join in American army by British.the policy applies to the nepalese by British is too harsh recognition.British Government just want to use nepalese for use when they need and throws away when they don't .
bro, you're too short sighted in your approach. Your statement is utterly misleading. You may not know or haven't tried to know the fact that only a handful of zones from west try for lahure. Lahures from west is more concentrated between two zones Gandaki and Dhaulagiri whereas the rest are few. In all my life never heard a lahure from Seti, Mahakali, bheri or even karnali.
I think you're taking out your personal frustration to hide your failure to get enlisted in either UK or Singapore. Personal frustration are venomous and it can mislead people around.
As for taking bribe, without the hard fact, I think it is imoral to defame or destroy somebody's life. You should not jeopardise someone's image mere assuptions.
So bro, clean your mind and heart before you vent your frustration.
british gorkha camp is d place where people takes lots of bribe...they select on the basis of relatives..to join the army u just need to know some people inside british camp..6 lakhs to join singapore police and 8 lakhs to join uk army...because of this corrupt system many best candidates haven't been able to join the army..
No matter where you work; work sincerely now this globe is open to bid for anything.

Okay all mates, serving almost 200 years is not a joke either in the British or Indian Army! Gone are the days, let's think from now on. Please do not even think of leaving the motherland behind. All the best for the next year's selection UK ,Singapore , Army Police whatever ; However I along with my comrades will be fighting for the sake of our beloved motherland for many years to come. Take care when you have to be out and about in Kashmir, Kargil , Basra , Kabul, pristina and so on. see you all colleagues sometime in the future, till then bye for now. Lal Salam!!!

i also tried in british army in gorkha paltan, i failed, but i didnt gave up... i came to UK n tried in gora paltan, i succeded.... m now serving in the british gora paltan in infantry HQ COY...proud to continue wat we was made of..... jai nepal hunter

i think it is the better place for job opportunity .i dont think only gurung and magars only join army there are many newars and brahmins , chhetries [all cast ] use to join in british army who are working with us .so i dont think there is discrimination there in selection ...those who does hard work gets success .but dont spoil ur life hopping to be lahure..........................
, well BIG "HI" to all the readers of this article and coments, guys u should b proud of all the gurkhas serving in british army,indian army and even our own nepal army for NATO, I think we should supporting them in what ever they do after all we are all nepali haina ra.

nobody knows what is in their luck.Even I tried 4 lahure last yr. n the yr. before but I couldn't suceed.Now I'm not eager 2 be a lahure any more.
