War that we never liked
10 Review Posted, Article Posted On 11 Oct 2007

Nepal has always been in war since its unification, though the war of today and yesterday differs from each other. Today the war is in between the people inside the country. It seems at a peek that everything is right and everything is wrong. After the restoration of democracy, people have felt that democracy isn’t like the same they had dreamt for years; even though dream is dream and public have always fought against the obstacles of it.  The media houses never thought they would be chained by different groups for the news they provide to us and public never thought they had to follow the dictatorship of different political leaders. It seemed like with the fall of one autocratic leader, our democracy gave birth to 100s of them, that’s why everyone wants to rule by themselves. Some with little power rules by makes bands on streets and city and some tagged as national leaders does it through Nepal bandhs.
The revolution of Moaist and Terai people had lots of reasons behind them but for the people like us it just was the end of peace. Yes, we do agree that with their revolution it has brought consciousness on our mind about our degraded political environment but I personally feel that the revolution has gone behind the horizon of awareness and has brought a civil and tribal war that we had never dreamt of. The time when the children had to go to the schools to shape themselves for the need of our country’s future needs has began to end as we see them more as the frontier army for the war that going on our country. A lady teacher in a government school said that whenever she asks what come for “G” to her student, the answer is always “GUN”.  It seems like the word “GUN” has started to rule over all the other words that start with the alphabet “G”. We have to worry that if this story is left to be continued then children will see more future on the prime word that has come from “G” then in any other field.
After the conflict in the country, a lot of people had to make journey to the beginning in a new place with the new people. For the negatives, we blame different groups and I feel time has come to stop blaming to these people and start thinking of solutions as nobody love the war that’s going on our country. So, I am leaving this column over here in hope that the surfers of site will help to end this article by putting the views on the best solutions they feel to end the war that we never liked.

no matter what the conditions are we are suppose to take it as i believe we talk more than we act , in short we have change ourselves before changing others. simple to talk but hard to act so useless talking all these stuffs over and over again if possible lets change ourself before we want to change our surrounding

I totally agree with rabin. Give a damn to todays politicians. We need an autocratic leader. There is no rule in the country. Politicians are busy making money on the name of negotiation, constiutional assembly, etc. Give damn to them too. I don't see any good frameworks from the mind of our present leaders. They are the animals that are better to get slaughtered then given power to rule the country. I do say that we need an autocratic leader with a long term vision and moer young peoples on power

Views differ and so is mine. Well unlike what most of us think, i believe that power to run the Nepali government sud be in autocratic hands. But certanily not in hands of some self centered S.O.B like we have today in the name of the 8 daal. But the power should be in the hands of someone who is an honest and sensible person, who thinks for us and who is trust worthy. He should not be someone who completely forgets his roots once he excersies the ultimate power. Well, we have a part to play here i.e. to choose the correct guy and keep a close eye on him.
I fully understand the fact that autocracy has its own flaws. Because with this, the mass concensus will be ignored. But do we really have a mass consensus. I think we have seen enough of what democracy means to all the nepali citizens. For instance, once on my way from ktm to pkr, i was struck in a jaam. The cause behind it was, the youngsters were not able to see the live telecast of the Indian Idol 3 so they had called of for a strike. I mean what is the meaning of democracy, when people cannot even make sense out of it. SO MY OUTCRY IS AUTOCRACY. s4YES, I WANT AUTOCRACY-FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE.

I know views differ and its being reflected in this review board. In my view, the one and the sole factor that can guide the country through this critical time is a responsible and AUTOCRATIC leader. cos now i have seen enough of democracy in nepal and how people handle it. So better give the power to someone who cares for the country and countrymen. I know it will have some flaws of its own. But,HEY rather than having several cooks cook a food and ruin the food, its better to have a single one and let him prepare the dish as he wishes to. HENCE, I EMPHASIZE ON HAVING AN AUTOCRATIC GOVERNMENT WITH A FAITHFUL NATIONAL LEADER FOR AT LEAST 30 YEARS AND I MEAN IT.

Development is the only way, we can get peace in the country. People will get educate, their economic standard will be high and more than that they won't get time to conduct these kind of bandhs so we should first develop our country. Development is very easy but you need to concentrate on one thing but our government concentrate on so many things that it has made our country jack of all master of none
