In some forms of the martial arts, practitioners customarily wear coloured belts to denote rank. A white belt indicates a novice; a black belt signifies proficiency at various levels. The levels of black belt are designated by Dan (Japanese, for “degree”). This degree of black belt usually signifies a master.
Tactics basic to the martial arts include hand, arm, and foot blows; knee kicks; throws and trips; gripping or mobilizing; and blocks or parries using wrist, forearm, or elbow.

GOSSIP
You used to be a good volleyball player but why did you choose martial art later? Volleyball is teamwork and the game-result depends on the performance of all players but martial art holds separate nature. The outcome of a player depends on his own ability to play and resist. This magnetized me and I was in.
What are you doing these days? I am busy with my students. I teach more then 150 students. There is a main dojo in the premises of PN Campus and other sub-dojos are in Lamachaur, Hemja, Ranipauwa and Lakeside of Pokhara. I have already prepared more than 54 black-belts and they perform super.

How are you managing yourself financially? I take one hundred rupees per student and it is a small amount. Wealthy people hardly send their children for the training of martial art and the middle class people can't afford much; that's the scenario in it and problem does arise.
What are the problems that your group is facing here? Being a player and guru of martial art, daily training is a must and we have no appropriate playground (dojo), however we are managing it in PN Campus now. There is not any national coach of this game in Kaski district but as per the government's rule and regulation, there should be at least one coach in every district. These are the problems for the development of this game in Pokhara.
How do you assess the government's initiatives for the development of marshal art? The government is doing nothing and the National Sports Council is contributing by not being sincere about the problems of the players. We have not even a good sports policy in Nepal. There is always excessive politics in sports sector and the council. Centralized activities, relative based selections and corruption are spoiling the sports of Nepal.
