Modelling has always been a hot job for any youth in any part of the world. The glamour, lifestyle and chance to become a public figure have been attracting lots of youth in this profession. In Pokhara too, we see lots of new face and talent in this profession but due to less financial attractiveness most of these faces fade out quickly. There are only few people who have engaged themselves professionally in this field, among them Aashish Shrestha is one of them. Today we may not see him in the ramp because today he works behind the stage. He is the most demanded choreographer in Pokhara. Let’s have a chit chat with him to find out more about the modeling business in Pokhara
Me: In which stage do you think Modeling lies today in Pokhara? Aashish: It is running through diamond stage. In my time there were very less opportunity to prove our self but today models have a big platform and media exposures too. A good model will not have difficulties in getting contracts.
Me: What are the qualities one need to have to become a model? Aashish: It depends upon job. If we are talking about the ramp modeling, then of course one needs to work out with the fitness and expression. The physical attributes counts in ramp modeling.
Me: What is the main obstacle for modeling profession in Pokhara? Aashish: The main obstacle in modeling profession here is the lack of continuity in modeling field. All youth wants results in short duration and I personally feel that it will take times at least few years to gain confidence in this field. Once the confidence comes you can knock anyone’s door.
Me: Are there any professional model in Pokhara? Aashish: Yep! There are lots of professional models in Pokhara. The number is increasing day by day.
Me: Tell me something about your job Aashish: Well, I am a chorographer today. I teach model how to present themselves in the ramp. My recent work was IEC fashion show and I think everyone appreciated my work.
Me: What are the other things you do apart from chorography? Aashish: Apart from chorography, I do graphic designing. I have already designed poster, hoarding boards for many business houses and events.
Me: What are the things that are necessary to develop modeling profession in Pokhara? Aashish: I learnt from experience but I feel like if there were Media and modeling colleges then it would really mark a difference in this field.

yes .. i agree with swagat ... criticism should be fair .. but here criticism applies to the work he does... the way he does .. what are the points that are missing or what else could be added to be made more effective or what old style he is using ... you should point out these mistakes to be called as criticism .... its not fair to call someone a shit or a junkie or his wordkplace as w********. i think these all are just bollocks and a cheapshot to make someone embarrassed!!!no offense guys but this is just what i wanted to say !!
I really don't know why people pull other legs. Reading the interview, i don't feel personally that there is anything wrong about him. He just seems to be a very cool guy. It's great to hear that in Nepal too.. esp in Pokhara there are Professional choreographer. Good Aashish Keep it up. and never try to control other words. You do the good job and leave the rest to the god

Oh..ho Ashish Bro.. It seems that you are rocking.. What happened to the TV SHOW yar.
I like kabir, mizone even j bhaya pani-- we should be positive thinking. . Though negetive thinking make others to learn more and correct ownself. But critisism should be fair.
