Maoists victory was expected: Raj Kaji Gurung ( Karan )

CPN-Maoist candidate Raj Kaji Gurung alias Karan has been elected as a member of Constituent Assembly, which will rewrite the Constitution of Nepal, from Kaski-2 in recently held Constituent Assembly polls. We have talked him about his future plans following his victory; excerpts:

Could you tell us what are you doing these days?

I am still busy with my voters even after the completion of Constituent Assembly (CA) Polls and visiting people who directly and internally helped me for my victory. Suggestion taking and poll reviewing also are underway.

Regarding the polls, results are being termed unexpected; what's your comment?

I won't like to say that because the poll results were very much expected and we had known the ground reality of Nepali land and its people. People voted us according to our expectation but the opinions of national and international media were prejudice over Maoists. Their pre-poll studies and calculation were wrong.

What might be the causes behind the heavy loses of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML?

Their irresponsibility over the people of Nepal is one of the major causes behind the shameful defeat. Similarly, their power hunger attitude and NGO styled data-wise calculation reached them to present condition. They never assessed the power of people being with them.

Now what would be your future plans?

I would move ahead as per the directives of my party. Definitely I would contribute my best to write a new constitution of Nepal. Since Pokhara is a touristy town, I would do its development accordingly. Initiative for International Airport in Pokhara, the long-term railway plan and the preservation of Natural recourses like lakes, rivers, jungles are my priorities. Reduction of corruption and the town-management would be my further tasks.

What about donation and taxes that your party used to collect during 11-year war period?

That won't be collected in coming days since we are going to head the new government of Nepal. All taxes would be taken as per the rules and laws of Nepal Government.

Since Pokhara has its own importance from tourism point of view, some wish to see the development of sex-tourism here; what is your opinion?

Such idea couldn't be acceptable in the context of Pokhara and it is completely a no-no. Rather we should create the atmosphere of employment instead turning Pokhara a sex-city or red-light area.

How would monarch be out of Narayanhiti Royal Palace?

First we would formally request him to be out of Palace and we hope King will honor the people's verdict that shown in recent polls. If he insists on throne even after the request, we will use millions of Nepali people including all the power of the country against him. But rest of all, it would be better bowing out.

Do you have any message to your voters as well as all the people from Pokhara?

I am very much proud of them and like to thank always. It was a lawful decision that people did in my case so I always honor their votes and will work impartially in coming days like before.

Same guy again with little confussion,As i went through Kantipur news this morning which make me little confused India is extending its business in Nepal and its good however,India is also to get the railway into Nepal which make no sense to me just to boarder as we already have to many bad Nepali who is involved is raping, killing, kidnapping etc it will be really very easy for bad guys to underground and at the same time Nepal will have a Pakistani terrrorist in Nepal eassily who will operate from Nepal,I am just worried about those innocent Nepal citizen,as we all know that India has a good relation with NC leadre GPK and GPK has been running nepal as PM as many time as he can i dont see any changes,i think nothing is not going to change in nepal, lets see Citizen of nepal have trusted Moist let see if Moist can bring and changes incountry.

Mr.Gurung..Congratulation for the triumph..But,does your ans stated above means that the maoist would have continued collecting the donations and taxes if the maoists had lost the election?? Any way good luck as nepalese people have chosen you..and hope that the people won't be deceived.
