Bijita started her career in modeling few years back through Lux Supermodel Hunt. Among four girls, she was also the one selected from Pokhara. After getting selected from Pokhara she went to Kathmandu to compete for the crown of Lux Supermodel Hunt. After that event she has became a part of Glamour world. Here is short interview of her with the pokharacity.com team. 1) How did you become a part of the glamour world? To be true, I became a part of modeling industry accidentally. I wasn’t even prepared for the Lux Supermodel Hunt contest. You won’t believe me but it was my friends who filled the form on the behalf of me. I just went to the contest for an experience but luckily I got selected from Pokhara. It was the training which was given to us on that contest that helped me to gain confidence in the field of modeling. I still can remember the embarrassment that I felt when I did my first photo session on the same event. Thus this way I became a part of the glamour world. 2) What is the prime thing that you like about the modeling industry? The prime thing that I like about the modeling industry is the unique experience and exposure that you get through this profession. You will be able to gain confidence in yourself in a very short time. 3) Tell me some of the work that you have done in this field? I have done more than half dozen of ramp shows in Pokhara, few music videos including the music video of Binod Baniya and The Axix Band and photosession for thikthak.com. I am just a year old in this profession and I think I have done lot of things in comparison to other newcomers. 4) Does modeling help you to become financially independent? Till now financially, I depend upon my family but that doesn’t mean that you can’t be financially independent through modeling profession. There are lots of models in Nepal who have taken modeling as their profession and are able to make a living through it. I have already said I am newcomer and I learning rather than earning. 5) In your view what is the prime thing that is needed for the promotion of modeling field in Nepal? I think, the Nepali companies should use Nepalese model to promote their product and the whole country should be taken as a media hub rather than taking just the cities like Kathmandu or Pokhara only. This way we will be able to make modeling profession financially sound. This will also help to attract a pool of people in this field which would later create a competition among themselves and competition always sharps your ability. This will help us to become internationally competent like the Indian models. 6) At last, any words to the surfer Live your life the way you want to live it. For the models, please don’t do any kind of works for free. Free works always makes you cheap and will also make you less competent so, before signing for any contract see that the work pays you in proportion to the ability you have.
