This year due to the political instability and transition in the country, Group of Event Entertainer, the organizer of “Miss Tourism Queen Nepal” failed to conduct this event this year. Since one contestant had to be send to China to compete for the crown of Miss Tourism Queen International 2008 on 10th April, a group of experts decided to pick Hema to represent the nation in this beauty contest.
A little about Hema Shrestha:
If not by her name, one can find her familiar as they go through her pictures. Hema, who is pursuing her graduation in Mass Communications from Campion College, was one of the participants in Miss Nepal 2006.
She had her first photo shoot for cybersansar, which instantly gave her popularity and opened the door to the glam industry for her. Her first music video - Chiyabarima by DJ Santosh gave her ample opportunities in modeling. She next flanked in Agantuk Kharel's Banma Phulyo Phool. Soon after, she not just modeled, but, also became the choreographer of Maiti Ghar.
Having also appeared in different commercials like Jolly Sandy beverage and Sunsilk shampoo, Hema is also an amateur violinist.
