Batulechaur in Pokhara

The Pokhara valley stands one of the most picturesque sites of Nepal. Some believe it to be the Nepalese Paradise in the ecological sense. The perpetual beauty of the valley os enhanced by its three renowned lakes including Fewa, Begnas and Rupa which own their natural resourse in the glacial sector of the Annapurna Range of the Supreme Himalayas. The Annapurna Range is virtually the abode of five major peaks, namely Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna IV and Annapurna South. The scenic beauty of the tall deep water-fall also makes our trip more enchanting. The striking landmark is none other than Mt. Machhapuchhre (the metaphorical usage of Fish-Tail) though located at a far distance direct to the magnetic north. Pokhara is situated a little over 200 kilometers west of the capital city and is connected by air as well as by surface route. There are many panoramic and interesting places to pay decent visits outside the Kathmandu Valley. Most of then can easily be reached from Kathmandu by surface-rout orair-route which is often lead through sloppy rough trails

There are three roads in Deep Height. The upper most road leads to Batulechaur. While driving towards Batulechaur we drive beside the Manipal Medical College and the road is a little rough. This road ends beside Mahendra Cave.

Mahendra Cave: It is another interesting natural site across the Seti River past Batulechaur village in the north of Pokhara Valley. It is one of the few stalagmite-stalactive caves found in Nepal. The cave has not yet been fully explored and it conceals more than thepresent first gallaries. A flashlight is worthwhile to explore the interior.

Bat Cave

This cave is located a little far form the Mahendra cave in the west .This cave was also discovered by the owner of the land – a farmer in the year 2040.

Though the entrance is quite narrow but the inner part of the cave is wide enough. The  images of the elephant tusk, gods and goddess have been craved on the inner  walls of the cave.

This cave is 150 meter long , 25feet high and of the shape of “U”. This cave is famous for the bats and gives shelter to more than 15 thousand bats of different species. This cave needs to be advertised more for its development . It can be a nice picnic spot.
